~Meet Delegate Buddy Fowler~

Hyland F. "Buddy" Fowler Jr. is the incumbent for the 59th House District and will serve the great people of Hanover (part), Louisa (part) and Henrico (part) Counties for the 2024/2025 term.  

For the 2024 Session, Buddy serves on the Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources Committee (Agriculture Subcommittee), General Laws Committee (Professions/Occupation and Administrative Process Subcommittee), and Finance Committee (Finance Subcommittee #1). 

 

Buddy has been appointed to serve on the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Board of Trustees, the History of Enslaved Virginians Commission and the Volunteer Firefighters and Rescue Squad Workers’ Service Program (VOLSAP).  He recently concluded his service on the Virginia Board of Veterans Services, the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission, and the Virginia Housing Commission.

Buddy is a graduate of Hermitage High School and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Mary Washington with a degree in History.  Buddy worked primarily in the private sector and was also a small business owner before coming to the Virginia General Assembly as an aide to former Delegates Frank Hargrove and John Cox.

A lifelong resident of Virginia, Buddy and his wife, Patsy, reside in Hanover County where they raised their three children.  He is a member of and has served on the Diaconate at Slash Christian Church.  Buddy is an active member of the Clay Springs Ruritan Club.  Buddy is an active outdoor enthusiast and enjoys fishing and hunting and is a member of numerous outdoor organizations including Ducks Unlimited, Quail Forever, the National Wild Turkey Federation, the Virginia Hunting Dog Owner’s Association, and the Slate River Bird Dog Club.  Buddy is also involved and supports numerous historical organizations including the Hanover Historical Society.
